Colorado Health Service Core
Diversity + Inclusion Statement

According to a study published in the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice, public health agencies that employ a diverse workforce are better positioned to implement targeted approaches in communities where they are needed, create systems to support those needs, and supply a greater variety of effective solutions to help address health disparities. Greater diversity of experiences and perspectives yields innovative public health approaches, and stronger evidence and better training related to health equity facilitate improvements in public health outcomes.

Coloradans are better served by a health care workforce that reflects the racial, ethnic, and geographic diversity, as well as lived experience of the communities it serves.

The Colorado Primary Care Office is committed to promoting diversity, inclusion, and lived experience in the selection of Colorado Health Service Corps participants. As an advocate and ally of diversity and inclusion for all of Colorado’s health care workforce, the Colorado Primary Care Office actively seeks and encourages clinicians of all races, ethnicities, religions, gender, gender expression, ages, national origins, ancestry, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status to apply to the Colorado Health Service Corps.
